Chapter 97

Vincent Langley slammed his fist on the desk, his face dark with fury. "Dominic! Find out who leaked the Evans family's information. Was it that damned Evelyn?"

His bloodshot eyes burned like a raging lion's.

Dominic Lombardi entered the study quietly. "It wasn't Evelyn. Our men saw her board the plane with their own eyes."

Vincent's temples throbbed, veins bulging. "Then who? That useless Adrian Valentine! Only Evelyn knew the secret of the Renaissance Masterpiece, and he drove her away—just like his spineless father!"

"Sir!" Dominic paled, glancing around nervously. "You mustn't say such things!"

The study fell deathly silent.

Vincent sneered. "What's there to fear? That matter was buried long ago."

He paced restlessly before stopping abruptly. "We must find that painting immediately. I suspect Evelyn never left. She deliberately had it photographed and erased the transaction records. Adrian forcing her out was the perfect cover."

Dominic hesitated. "Sir, she grew up in the countryside, never even finished college. How could she pull off something like this?"

He'd visited Evelyn often over the years. She'd lived with an old man until his death, only then returning to the Langley family.

Vincent narrowed his eyes. Something didn't add up.

"Sir!" Dominic suddenly remembered. "Miss Isabella is in trouble! She clashed with Cassandra Valentine. When Mrs. Valentine intervened, things escalated."

"Julian Roscente was there too. They sent Cassandra to the hospital. The Valentine family's second uncle dotes on his niece—he won't let this slide."

Vincent trembled with rage, knuckles cracking.

"Handle it now!" he hissed. "Pin everything on Cassandra. Say she abused her power. Buy trending hashtags and milk this scandal dry!"

"Isabella's career is on the rise. This free publicity is too good to waste!"

Dominic nodded and hurried out.

Valentine Group CEO Office.

Adrian Valentine listened to the recording, murderous intent swirling in his eyes.

Vincent knew about his father's death?

Deliberately stunted Evelyn's growth?

BANG! His fist smashed into the desk.

Knock knock knock—

"Enter." His voice was glacial.

Victor Ashcroft shivered outside the door. Was the CEO this furious over Isabella's incident?
