Chapter 215

"Evelyn, shut your mouth!" Adrian roared, his eyes blazing with anger. "Isabella is still under my protection. You have no right to criticize her. Apologize now!"

"Criticize?" Evelyn smirked, her red lips curling. "What exactly counts as criticism?"

She raised an eyebrow, feigning realization. "Ah, I see. When I called her blind, you called it criticism."

"Adrian, you two are a disgrace. Stay out of my sight from now on."

"Don't make me sick with your presence. And as for an apology—does she even deserve one?"

"Let's pretend we're strangers from now on. I won't waste another word on you."

Why should she apologize to Isabella?

"Even at my lowest, I won't let you trample over me."

"Evelyn, you—" Adrian's face darkened. "You found another man barely a year after the divorce. Shameless—"

"That's none of your business!" Evelyn cut him off coldly. "You're blind, and she's brainless. You two should book a hospital visit together."

Adrian fell silent. Her flushed cheeks and those defiant lips made him want to silence her with a kiss.

Every word she spoke stabbed at his heart.

"Isabella, you bitch! How dare you send Margaret after my daughter? You're asking for death!"

A furious shout erupted. Margaret Valentine stormed over, grabbing Isabella's hair and slapping her twice across the face.

"Ah—!" Isabella shrieked in pain.

Adrian: "..."

Evelyn burst into laughter at the sight of the scuffle.

Adrian glanced at her, his heart shattering. She would never smile at him like that again.

"Let go! What are you doing?" Isabella whimpered, too afraid to scream.

Margaret's grip was ironclad, nearly tearing Isabella's scalp off. Her low-cut dress threatened to slip, exposing her.

"Adrian, help me! Get this crazy woman off me!"

Adrian quickly stepped in, pulling Margaret away. "Aunt Margaret, stop! This is a public place!"

Margaret, plump and dignified, sneered. "Adrian, are you blind? You cheated with this trash? Evelyn was ten times the woman she is! Look at her—her chest is practically falling out!"

"What decent woman dresses like this?"

Isabella: "..." She hastily covered herself, too humiliated to look up.

Adrian draped his suit jacket over her shoulders.

Evelyn suppressed an eye-roll. Margaret was infamous for hair-pulling brawls—she'd once ripped off a chunk of someone's scalp.

"Aunt Margaret, control yourself!" Adrian snapped impatiently.
