Chapter 459

"Mom, he only married you for Grandma's influence." Christian Lefèvre squeezed his mother's hand. "You're still young. Don't waste your life on someone like him."

Sophia Lefèvre's fingers trembled. "Then what about you? How did Adrian Valentine's fiancée become your girlfriend? Why didn't you tell me about something this important? You almost—"

Her voice broke, eyes reddening.

Christian gave a bitter smile. "Isabella Langley is Vincent Langley's daughter. Both Adrian and I fell into her trap. I only saw the full picture after waking up yesterday."

His voice tightened. "Mom, be careful around Isabella. I nearly made you bury your own son."

"I'll be cautious." Sophia wiped her tears. "I've been preparing for divorce these past months. Your father has been abusing his power for years. Without the Lefèvre family backing him, he'll get what's coming."

Her lips curled coldly. "That spendthrift Vanessa Kalmien knows nothing about managing a household. Leonard's company is already crumbling. It'll go bankrupt within a month."

Christian's heart clenched. "Mom, you've suffered all these years."

"Having you and your sister makes it bearable." Sophia gently touched her son's gaunt face. "When you recover, the company will be yours."

"I won't let you down." Christian's gaze hardened. A man who's stared death in the face doesn't repeat mistakes.

Sophia suddenly remembered something. "Contact Evelyn Roland tomorrow. I want to thank her in person."

At the mention of the frosty-eyed woman, admiration flickered in her eyes. Adrian truly didn't deserve her.

"Alright." Christian reached for his phone, then froze. "Mom... I don't have her contact information."

"What?" Sophia stared in disbelief. "You stayed at her home. How could you not—"
