Chapter 205
Sebastian Orlando frowned slightly, his gaze fixed on Victoria Laurent.
Victoria's fingers trembled under his icy stare.
She had never seen such sharpness in his eyes before.
Immediately, she understood—now wasn't the right time for Evelyn to know the truth.
"Evelyn, have breakfast first." Victoria shoved her phone into her pocket, forcing a stiff smile. "We can check later. No need to ruin your appetite."
Evelyn sensed something was off.
But Victoria was right—it was too early to spoil the morning.
"Sebastian, eat up." She placed a fried dumpling in his bowl.
Sebastian smiled warmly. "After this, I'll take you shopping."
The table was spread with steaming porridge, golden-brown dumplings, and soft-boiled eggs—Evelyn's signature breakfast dishes.
Suddenly, she remembered how Adrian Valentine had loved her cooking.
Her fingers clenched.
Why was she thinking about that traitor again?
"Evelyn?" Sebastian noticed her pale expression. "Are you feeling unwell?"
She shook her head. "I'm fine."
Taking a bite of the dumpling, she savored the burst of juices.
Sebastian picked out the egg yolk and gently placed it in her bowl.
"You don't like yolks either?" Evelyn was surprised.
Just like Alexander Durand.
A flicker of nostalgia passed through Sebastian's eyes. "Alexander and I never liked them, even as kids."
Evelyn froze. She hadn't known that.
After breakfast, the children were left in Gabrielle Flores and Victoria's care.
Sebastian drove Evelyn to the mall for children's clothes.
Though Gabrielle and Victoria often bought outfits, Evelyn always chose the styles herself.
She knew Adrian's tactics too well.
If he discovered the children existed, he'd stop at nothing to take them.
Every trace had to be erased.
Even if he'd heard the baby's cries last night, he'd find no leads.
Sebastian's SUV pulled into the mall's underground garage.
As he leaned over to fasten her seatbelt, Evelyn caught his crisp pine scent—strangely familiar.
"You can check your phone now." Sebastian started the engine. "But promise me you won't overreact. Let me handle this."
Evelyn unlocked her screen.
A headline exploded across it:
