Chapter 477
"Ma...mama..." Little Sophia tugged at her collar with tiny hands, her eyes brimming with tears.
Her rosy lips quivered, on the verge of crying.
Evelyn set down her chopsticks and carried her daughter to the sofa to nurse.
A sudden thought struck her. "Where's Scarlett?"
Gabrielle was playing with her grandson. "She said she's going to watch a play."
"A play?" Evelyn arched an eyebrow.
"Something about Nathan's performance. She left early this morning." Gabrielle smiled knowingly.
Evelyn understood instantly.
That girl actually went to spy on Nathan and Natalie?
Natalie woke to sunlight streaming through the curtains.
She tried to turn over, but her body ached as if she'd been run over.
Memories of last night flooded back.
She bolted upright, scanning the room.
A hotel suite.
She had really slept with Nathan...
A bitter smile tugged at Natalie's lips.
Men were all the same.
The sound of running water came from the bathroom.
She looked down at the marks scattered across her skin and shook her head with a wry laugh.
A neatly folded set of fresh clothes lay on the bedside table.
At least Nathan was considerate.
Gritting her teeth, she dressed her sore body.
Her legs gave out the moment she stood, sending her crashing to her knees.
That man had too much stamina.
One last glance at the blurred silhouette behind the frosted glass, and Natalie clenched her jaw as she left the room.
Scarlett crouched in the café across from the hotel.
She chewed on her straw, eyes locked on the revolving door.
"Cough—!"
When she saw Natalie emerge, hand pressed to her lower back, she nearly choked on a tapioca pearl.
"Nathan, you sly dog!"
Fumbling, she yanked out her phone.
"Victoria! Breaking news!" she shrieked as soon as the call connected. "Nathan actually slept with Natalie!"
Evelyn patted Sophia's back to burp her. "You're at the hotel?"
"Of course!" Scarlett waved her arms excitedly. "I just saw Natalie walking out holding her waist! Who knew that pretty boy Nathan had it in him?"
