Chapter 454
Christian's knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists.
He had witnessed Isabella's crimes with his own eyes, yet she walked free without consequences.
Nathan's phone screen lit up. His expression darkened as he read the message.
The order from above was clear: release Isabella immediately.
The interrogation room door swung open. Isabella strode out with her chin held high.
"Surprised?" She smirked at Christian, her voice dripping with malice. "I told you I'd get out."
Warren leaned against a luxury car nearby. He pulled Isabella into a possessive embrace.
Right in front of everyone, he crushed his lips against hers in a vulgar display.
Adrian turned away in disgust.
Christian's eyes burned with fury, but he forced himself to remain still.
Isabella tossed her hair, venom gleaming in her gaze. "Evelyn, you ruined my life. You'll pay for this."
With that final threat, she slid into the car and sped away.
Evelyn watched the scene unfold with detached calm, as if observing a farce.
"Christian, you should go home," she said quietly.
He glanced down at his wheelchair with a bitter smile. "My legs haven't fully recovered yet."
Gabrielle cut in impatiently. "Stop pretending. You've been able to walk for weeks."
She shoved a large bag of medication into his arms.
"Take these on schedule. And keep them away from your brother."
Christian froze. "My brother?"
Gabrielle rolled her eyes. "Just be careful."
As Evelyn turned to leave, Christian called out desperately.
"Evelyn... can I still visit you?"
She didn't look back. "That won't be necessary."
Gabrielle caught up to her sister, muttering under her breath. "Finally got rid of that nuisance."
Christian watched their retreating figures, his expression growing shadowed.
He absently touched the medicine bag, lost in thought.
In the distance, a black sedan approached slowly.
The window rolled down, revealing the cold, calculating face of the Lefèvre family's eldest son.
