Chapter 193

The alley was blocked by a bald thug with a face full of scars. His massive frame nearly filled the narrow passage, his greasy skin glistening under the streetlight.

"Pretty thing," he sneered, licking his lips as his eyes roamed over Evelyn. "Someone paid good money for us to have some fun with you. Either cooperate for the photos, or..." He dragged out the pause. "You won't be going home tonight."

Evelyn's gaze sharpened. "Who sent you?"

"Tsk, can't say." The man smirked, his beady eyes narrowing. "But you pissed off the wrong people. Walk away from Adrian Valentine, and you might save yourself some pain."

Her heart clenched at the name. Suppressing the surge of emotions, she kept her voice icy. "Was it Vincent Ashcroft?"

The man's expression flickered before twisting back into that revolting grin. "Guess all you want. Either way, you won't leave here in one piece."

Meanwhile, Adrian was speeding toward the GPS location. His knuckles whitened around the steering wheel as call after call went unanswered.

"Boss, five minutes enough?" Zachary appeared beside Evelyn, his nunchaku glinting ominously in the dark.

A cold light flashed in her eyes. "Make it hurt."

Before the words fully left her lips, Zachary lunged like an arrow released from a bow. His nunchaku carved deadly arcs through the air. The thugs barely had time to react before screams tore from their throats.

Evelyn moved like lightning, striking straight for the bald man. Her nunchaku cracked against his shoulder with brutal precision. The two-hundred-pound brute collapsed like a felled tree.

The night wind lifted her hair as she stared down at the writhing man. Her gaze was colder than the darkest winter.
