Chapter 283

Evelyn hesitated for a moment before dialing Victoria's number.

"There was an accident tonight," she whispered. "Please take care of the children."

Victoria finally relaxed after hearing the details. Knowing Nathan had arranged bodyguards to protect Evelyn eased her worries.

Meanwhile, Isabella's phone screen lit up.

[The mission failed, but Julian Roscente is severely injured.]

Isabella's fingers tightened around her phone, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.

[Make sure he never wakes up. With him gone, the Roscente family will collapse.]

[Understood. I'll find another opportunity.]

......

The operating room lights finally turned off.

The doctor removed his mask. "Mr. Ashcroft has fractured ribs, which we've treated. Mr. Roscente suffered a head injury with minor concussion and multiple external wounds. He's currently unconscious. Mr. Valentine has back injuries—superficial wounds."

Evelyn saw Adrian being wheeled out face down. His intense gaze locked onto the wound on her hand, his brow furrowed.

"Miss," the doctor asked excitedly, "was there any special treatment administered before arrival? The bleeding was severe but stopped remarkably fast."

"I used a special hemostatic agent," Evelyn replied calmly.

"Incredible!" The doctor marveled. "The rib fracture patient's thoracic bleeding was controlled in time, avoiding a second surgery."

Adrian watched Evelyn silently. For the first time, he realized her medical skills were extraordinary.

The well-stocked first aid kit in her car, her practiced movements—none of it was coincidence. He knew so little about his own wife.

"Please arrange a triple room," Evelyn told the nurse.

She needed to monitor all three patients until their families arrived.

"The ward is across from the inpatient department. Follow me." The nurse pushed the gurney.

The doctor hurried after her, eyes alight with curiosity. "Could you introduce me to the pharmacist who developed that formula?"

Evelyn smiled without answering and followed the gurney.

The doctor sighed, shaking his head at her retreating figure. "Such a groundbreaking hemostatic formula... what a waste."

In the ward, Vincent and Julian were already asleep. Only Adrian remained stubbornly awake.

Evelyn frowned at the bedside. None of them had contacted their families.

She had to return home to the children and couldn't stay overnight.

Her gaze met Adrian's.

She'd meant to ask for the Roscente family's contact, then remembered someone else.

"Victor," she said when the call connected, "your CEO was in a car accident. I'm sending the address. Come immediately."
