Chapter 210
Vincent Ashcroft shot to his feet, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Julian Roscente. His fists clenched with audible cracks. "Julian Roscente, how dare you? Cassandra would never drug you!"
His chest heaved violently, refusing to believe Cassandra Valentine could scheme against Julian.
After all these years of unspoken feelings, she couldn’t possibly be oblivious.
Evelyn’s words from last night suddenly echoed in his mind. A chill ran down his spine. Could it be...?
No. Cassandra would never fall for this playboy. The number of women he’d toyed with was countless.
Seeing Vincent’s emotional outburst, Julian said nothing more and turned to leave the Ashcroft residence.
At the Langley villa, Isabella Langley sipped black tea from a bone china cup, her movements deliberate.
Even confined indoors, no whisper of the outside world escaped her notice.
Vincent Langley strode in, beaming. "Isabella, last night’s plan was executed flawlessly! Pity we didn’t secure the core technology."
A cold glint flickered in Isabella’s eyes. "Patience. With the company in our grasp, the technology will follow. I already have a plan to deal with that fool. They’ll hand it over within six months. Father, keep a close eye on the acquisition."
Vincent Langley smirked in satisfaction. "Don’t worry. That wedding planning firm will be ours by this afternoon. Their product sales are strong—profits will pour in soon."
Isabella’s red lips curved.
Who knew setting up Evelyn and Vincent would yield such unexpected gains?
Evelyn, the humiliation you dealt me will be repaid tenfold.
She picked up her limited-edition handbag. "I’m going to see Adrian."
Vincent Langley grinned. "Secure the engagement soon."
A talent like Adrian Valentine must be firmly controlled.
If he couldn’t be used...
A murderous glint flashed in Vincent Langley’s eyes.
In the CEO office of Valentine Group, Adrian Valentine paced restlessly.
It wasn’t until noon that Victor Ashcroft called. "Sir, we couldn’t trace Madam’s whereabouts. But she was spotted shopping with Sebastian Orlando at the mall."
Adrian’s voice turned icy. "Keep them under surveillance. I’m on my way."
He grabbed his car keys and stormed out, only to collide with Isabella at the elevator.
"Adrian, where are you off to in such a hurry?"
Adrian ignored her, stepping straight into the elevator.
