Chapter 256
Sebastian and Scarlett Orlando stormed out of the exhibition hall.
Rage burned in their eyes, sharp enough to kill.
Sebastian grabbed Evelyn's wrist. "Why did you lock yourself in, silly girl?"
His fingers trembled slightly, terrified she'd been hurt.
"I had it under control." Evelyn's lips curved.
Scarlett swept a cold gaze over the crowd. "Isabella, you never learn."
Isabella bit her lip hard, eyes reddening.
Why did she always lose against Evelyn?
She plotted silently to involve her father.
If the painting couldn't be found, Evelyn had to disappear.
"Evelyn, we weren't finished talking." Julian Roscente interjected smoothly.
Evelyn considered the secret he'd mentioned.
"I have plans with Sebastian tonight. Tomorrow." Something about the Roscentes felt off.
Julian's eyes brightened. "I'll make reservations."
Scarlett suddenly linked arms with Evelyn. "I just remembered a date. Don't want to third-wheel!"
She dashed off before Evelyn could react.
Evelyn's eyes widened.
That little schemer!
Sebastian gently smoothed her hair. "Our table's ready. Let's go."
They walked away together, ignoring Adrian Valentine completely.
Julian shot Cassandra Valentine a frosty look. "Final warning."
He left without a backward glance.
Cassandra dug her nails into her palms, hatred blazing.
Adrian watched impassively.
Isabella rushed after him. "Adrian, Cassandra framed me for everything!"
Her words died as Evelyn suddenly reappeared.
"What do you want now?" Isabella blocked Adrian protectively.
