Chapter 444
Vincent Langley was sound asleep when Eleanor Langley's voice jolted him awake.
He rolled over with irritation, turning his back to his wife.
If it weren't about their son's future, she wouldn't bother with this mess.
She'd have peace if Vincent ended up in prison.
"Vincent! Wake up! It's an emergency!"
Eleanor's shout echoed through the bedroom.
Vincent bolted upright, his gaze dazed.
Recognizing his wife, his expression darkened. "What madness is this in the middle of the night?"
"My madness?" Eleanor scoffed. "Your bribery scandal with Mr. Yu has been exposed!"
Vincent snapped awake instantly.
His hands trembled as he took the phone, watching the viral video spreading online.
Thud!
He hurled the phone to the floor with brutal force.
All his careful planning, so close to success.
He should have been elected last year if not for the sabotage.
He'd suspected Adrian Valentine, but they had no direct conflict.
Vincent dressed hastily and stormed out of the room.
Eleanor picked up the phone—the screen was cracked but still functional.
She dialed Jonathan Savigny.
"Any news about our daughter?"
"Still searching," Jonathan replied gently. "I'll notify you the moment I hear anything."
After hanging up, Eleanor leaned against the headboard and scrolled through the news.
A headline flashed—Mr. Yu had been arrested.
But the report made no mention of the bribe money.
She smirked.
Someone was determined to ruin Vincent completely.
