Chapter 418

"Bullshit! My sister would never kill over mere words. The real murderer is still out there. We're here to uncover the truth."

Sophia Blanchet hadn't expected the other party to strike first.

Now they were smearing her sister as a killer.

Evelyn Roland watched Mrs. Lefèvre's devastated expression. As a mother herself, she understood that pain.

"Mrs. Lefèvre, do you honestly believe I'd kill for such a petty reason? The person who sent you that evidence—did they truly want to reveal the truth? Or were they using you as their weapon?"

Mrs. Lefèvre froze.

That person had indeed promised revenge if Evelyn died.

"Then prove it wasn't you."

Evelyn clenched her fists. She had children too. Anyone who harmed them would face her wrath.

"I have evidence. Give me three days, Mrs. Lefèvre. Unless you want the Lefèvre family to fall next. First the Ashcrofts, then the Roscentes—who stands to gain from all this? You know the answer."

Mrs. Lefèvre paled.

A sudden realization struck her. She rushed toward the door, forgetting her purse.

Then she hesitated.

Something about Evelyn's words nagged at her.

But finding Julian Roscente took priority now.

If the Lefèvres were targeted, that woman's son would benefit most.

She'd already lost one child. She couldn't lose her daughter too.

Evelyn and Sophia headed straight for the penthouse.

As the door opened, Adrian Valentine was leaving.

The man looked as striking as ever, his peach-blossom eyes icy despite their charm.

Seeing Evelyn, he stiffened.

Before he could speak, a slap cracked across his face.

Isabella Langley gasped.

Was this woman insane?

Then Evelyn turned and struck Isabella too.

"Evelyn! How dare you hit me?" Isabella shrieked, clutching her cheek.

Evelyn smirked. "You deserve it, both of you. Adrian, I should've let you burn in that fire."

Adrian's pupils contracted.

Isabella's face drained of color.

Their secret was out.
