Chapter 157
Brother and sister exchanged a knowing smile, their eyes filled with silent understanding.
Evelyn's gaze shimmered as the corners of her lips lifted.
Sebastian watched her with tender affection.
Frederick cradled little Ethan in his arms, beaming with joy.
"Grandfather, we lack nothing," Evelyn said brightly. "Your health is what matters most."
Sebastian smoothly added, "Indeed. I've already arranged all overseas affairs. We'll be ready to depart in a month."
Frederick's hearty laughter filled the hospital room.
Ethan giggled in his arms, tiny hands mischievously tugging at the old man's ears.
Evelyn and Sebastian exchanged glances.
Grandfather seemed unusually cheerful today.
"Oh, you little rascal!" Frederick wiped tears of mirth from his eyes. "Why are you so delighted just because Great-grandfather is happy?"
He pinched Ethan's cheek gently. "You must grow up to be as remarkable as your parents."
Evelyn was the heir he had personally groomed.
Sebastian was the successor he had carefully chosen.
Both made him immensely proud.
Uncomprehending, Ethan continued his playful assault on Great-grandfather's ears.
"Goo-goo-ga-ga..." The baby babbled with glee.
Frederick feigned sternness. "Your sister behaves much better—always bringing me joy."
Warmth permeated the hospital room.
Evelyn watched the scene, her heart swelling with emotion.
"Evelyn," Frederick suddenly grew serious. "The new vehicle sales have surpassed one hundred thousand units."
Her eyes sparkled with triumph.
Four years of effort had borne fruit.
Sebastian added, "The intelligent system played a crucial role. Market response has been exceptional."
"Brother," Evelyn shook her head. "This is our shared achievement."
Frederick regarded them with satisfaction. "Seeing you two united puts my mind at ease."
His tone turned solemn. "Sebastian, it's time we discussed your marriage plans."
Sebastian nodded gravely. "Rest assured, Grandfather. I understand."
He stood and ruffled Evelyn's hair. "Focus on recovering. No unnecessary worries."
Evelyn stuck out her tongue playfully. "All I want is to heal quickly."
Sebastian gave a soft hum. "See that you do."
