Chapter 488

The weekend sun cast golden rays through the trees as Harrison pedaled his bicycle toward the Kingsley estate. Spotting Leonard in the garden, he called out cheerfully. "Mr. Kingsley!"

Leonard's face lit up at the sight of the young man. "Harrison! Looking for Julian and Elliot? They left for a recording session this morning."

"That's alright, Mr. Kingsley." Harrison grinned. "I actually came to see Evelyn."

A knowing smile spread across Leonard's face. "Ah, I should have guessed! Let me have the housekeeper fetch her."

Before Leonard could summon help, rapid footsteps echoed from the staircase.

Evelyn burst into the foyer, her eyes sparkling. "Harrison! You're here!"

Harrison nodded toward Leonard. "We'll be heading out now, sir."

"Have fun, you two!" Leonard waved them off.

The moment they stepped outside, Evelyn's curiosity overflowed. "Where are we going? Why all the secrecy?"

Harrison simply winked. "Patience. You'll see soon enough."

Mounting his bicycle, he gestured to the back. "Hop on!"

Without hesitation, Evelyn settled behind him, her hands lightly gripping his shoulders as they set off through the tree-lined streets.

When they arrived at their destination, Evelyn blinked in confusion. "A science lab? Harrison, what—"

"Come see!" He grabbed her hand, pulling her toward the entrance.

Inside, the room buzzed with scientific equipment - beakers, microscopes, and devices Evelyn couldn't name. Her eyes widened at the strange apparatus.

"What's this?" She pointed to a peculiar glass object.

"Concave lens setup," Harrison explained.

"And this?" She touched a box with dials.

"Variable resistor, with a voltmeter and ammeter beside it."

Evelyn moved through the lab like a child in a candy store, touching everything with wonder. Harrison patiently answered each question until they reached a workstation.

"Want to try an experiment?" he offered.

"Me?" Evelyn hesitated.

"Trust me, you'll love it."

With gentle encouragement, Harrison guided her through constructing a pinhole camera. When the image projected upside down, Evelyn gasped.

"That's incredible! Why does it flip like that?"

Harrison launched into an animated explanation about light refraction and rectilinear propagation. Evelyn listened, fascinated.

"This is amazing!" She tugged his sleeve. "Let's try another one!"

Delighted by her enthusiasm, Harrison walked her through every experiment in the curriculum. Hours slipped by unnoticed until Harrison checked his watch.

"Evelyn, it's getting late. We should head back."

"Not yet!" She gestured to their current experiment. "We have to see the results!"
