Chapter 264
"Did you crawl out of your hole to make trouble again?" Evelyn's voice dripped with disdain.
Isabella's face twisted momentarily before she forced a sickly sweet smile. "Do you even know how I got released?"
"Nathan paid an obscene amount for my bail!" Her eyes gleamed with malicious triumph. "Understand this, Evelyn - I'm the only woman who's ever mattered to him. You're just the discarded ex-wife he couldn't wait to get rid of."
Evelyn's expression remained unreadable as she crossed her arms. "Then by all means, stay glued to each other forever. Just don't let your toxicity leak onto innocent people."
"You bitch!" Isabella's nails dug into her palms as she glared.
"Mark my words, Evelyn. I'll make you suffer tenfold for everything I endured."
"Feel free to try," Evelyn's voice turned glacial. "Though I suspect you'd rather not revisit prison accommodations."
A visible shudder ran through Isabella's body at the mention of prison. The memories still haunted her.
"Just wait," she spat venomously.
At that moment, the elegant woman sipping coffee on the nearby couch finally spoke. Her voice carried the chill of winter winds. "Since when do homewreckers have the audacity to threaten the wronged party?"
Isabella whirled toward the unfamiliar voice. The woman appeared to be in her late thirties, exuding quiet sophistication.
Unable to vent on Evelyn, Isabella redirected her rage. "Mind your own business, hag!"
The woman's eyes darkened dangerously.
"Trash like you should crawl back into whatever gutter you came from. How dare you show your face here after what you've done?"
"I'll rip that smug look off your face!" Isabella lunged forward.
Evelyn intercepted her wrist with lightning speed. "Enough! This is my establishment, and she's my honored guest. Touch her, and I'll have you arrested before you can blink."
With a sharp twist, Evelyn sent Isabella stumbling backward onto the floor.
Olivia appeared instantly, broom in hand. "What's this vermin doing here? Out! Now!"
Humiliation burned Isabella's cheeks as she was physically escorted out. The door slammed behind her with finality.
"Let me make this clear, Isabella," Evelyn called through the glass. "Step foot here again, and I'll have security remove you every single time."
Moments later, a new sign appeared on the door: "No entry for Isabella and dogs."
Isabella's scream of frustration echoed through the street. With no other options, she retreated, her designer heels clicking furiously against pavement.
Turning back to her guest, Evelyn's demeanor softened. "My sincerest apologies for that unpleasant scene, madam."
The elegant woman studied Evelyn with newfound appreciation. A small smile played on her lips. "You must be Evelyn?"
Evelyn tilted her head slightly. "I am. Have we met?"
"Evelyn, this is Madame Gold," Olivia interjected excitedly. "She specifically requested you to design her gala gown."
