Chapter 482
Evelyn Carter always kept her promises. Her class finished earlier than Harrison's that day. The moment the bell rang, she dashed to the school gates to wait for him.
She spotted Elliot, Julian, and Harrison cycling out moments later. Elliot waved first. "Finally showing some sense by waiting for your brothers, huh?"
Julian chimed in, "But we already planned to hit the arcade before heading home. Why don't you take the car back first?"
Evelyn's gaze locked onto Harrison standing behind them. "Who said I was waiting for you two? Let's go, Harrison!"
The brothers exchanged shocked glances. "Wait. You were waiting for Harrison, Evie?"
Evelyn nodded with a hum. "I owe him proper thanks for helping me this morning. You two can leave if there's nothing else."
Elliot turned to Harrison with a warning look. "You promised to game with us at the arcade, man."
"Yeah! We haven't finished our match!" Julian added.
Gaming was their top priority, so they naturally assumed Harrison felt the same.
Elliot immediately refused on Harrison's behalf. "He can't go with you today, Evelyn. Reschedule."
"It's fine, Evie. Let's go," Harrison said, stunning both brothers.
"What about our game?" Julian protested.
Harrison replied seriously, "We're fifteen now. Should cut back on gaming and focus on exams."
Elliot and Julian shared another look.
Who was the one who'd suggested arcade time in the first place? Since when did he care about exams?
Evelyn beamed. "You're the best, Harrison! Come on, I'm treating you to ice cream."
As they walked away, Julian muttered, "Doesn't it feel like Harrison's place in Evie's heart has surpassed ours, Elliot?"
Elliot narrowed his eyes. "Harrison and his damn 'chicks before bros' mentality!"
"What chicks?" Julian frowned. Evelyn was their only sister, the family's darling. What did this have to do with chicks?
"It's sisters before misters, Elliot!"
Elliot looked at his brother like he was an idiot. "Only you and Evie are blind to Harrison's intentions. Whatever. Let's go home."
Julian looked confused. "What intentions? Explain!"
He chased after Elliot, demanding answers. But his brother remained silent, leaving Julian with endless questions.
Meanwhile, Evelyn led Harrison to a premium ice cream parlor. "Order anything you want. My treat," she offered graciously.
As Harrison scanned the menu, Evelyn started recommending flavors. "This place has the creamiest ice cream in town. Melts perfectly on your tongue. Only place I never get tired of."
"Then I'll try it," Harrison agreed.
