Chapter 367

An explosion rocked the air just as Harrison predicted. His arms instinctively wrapped around Evelyn as they both hit the ground hard.

"Secure the prisoner!" someone shouted.

Officers swarmed around Damian Castillo, but the criminal only smirked. With practiced ease, he slipped free from his restraints. More explosions erupted in the distance as he vanished into the chaos.

The blasts came in rapid succession, each strategically placed to create maximum confusion. When the smoke finally cleared, Evelyn gasped. "Where's Damian? He's gone!"

Panic spread through the crowd. The handcuffed fugitive had disappeared right before their eyes.

"Alert all units," Harrison barked into his radio. "Seal every exit. I want this bastard found."

"Yes, Mr. Whitmore."

He turned to Evelyn, his voice steady. "Every possible escape route is blocked. Between the police and my security team, there's no way out."

Evelyn's nails dug into her palms. "He's too clever. We had him and he still slipped away."

"Justice always catches up eventually," Harrison murmured.

The radio crackled to life moments later. "Target apprehended. Just as you suspected - he tried swimming to freedom. Our divers intercepted him."

Evelyn exhaled sharply, though anger still burned in her chest. "That snake thought he could escape? He just traded one prison for another."

They rushed to the shoreline where Damian stood dripping wet between two officers. His earlier bravado had vanished. "I surrender," he muttered.

"This isn't surrender," Evelyn spat. "This is consequences."

Damian chuckled darkly. "Ms. Carter, your family may be powerful, but enemies surround you. I'll enjoy watching your downfall from hell."

Evelyn's face hardened. "Pity you won't live to see another sunset."

"Death doesn't scare men like me," he sneered.

"Enough!" The lead officer jerked Damian's chains. Turning to Evelyn, he said respectfully, "Thanks to your efforts, we've dismantled a major trafficking ring. We'll transport him to Frenda for trial."

Evelyn nodded stiffly. "See that justice is served."

As officers marched Damian onto the waiting vessel, Evelyn and Harrison remained on the dock. She stared at the horizon long after the ship disappeared.

Harrison's hand found hers. "The law will handle him now."

She gave a tight nod. Men like Damian deserved no sympathy, no matter their fate.

"This wouldn't have been possible without you," she admitted quietly. Alone, she never could have outmaneuvered such a dangerous opponent.
