Chapter 481

"That's not the point. Finals are just around the corner, and we should be focusing every second on studying!"

Harrison didn't even flinch. "A few minutes won't make or break my grades."

His gaze swept across the courtyard before nodding in approval. "Looks clean enough now. Let's go back."

Elliot was speechless.

Meanwhile, Evelyn had learned her lesson after that first tardy incident. She never showed up late again.

In fact, she started waking up thirty minutes earlier than Elliot every morning, determined to maintain her perfect attendance record.

That morning, Evelyn stepped out of her family car at the school gates when she spotted her classmate, Maxwell Thornton.

Maxwell was the quintessential honor student - brilliant, driven, and always eager to discuss academics with fellow high-achievers like Evelyn.

"Evelyn!" Maxwell called out, adjusting his glasses. "Did you complete those calculus problems from yesterday's lecture? I'd love to compare answers."

"Wait, we had homework on that?"

"Page 98, problems 15 through 25. Don't tell me you forgot?"

Evelyn's stomach dropped. She'd completely blanked on the assignment. "O-of course I did them."

"Great. Professor Whitaker's collecting them during first period."

Evelyn's palms grew clammy. Their calculus professor was notoriously strict, known for publicly shaming students who came unprepared. The entire class lived in fear of his wrath.

As a top student, Evelyn had always avoided such humiliation. But if he discovered she'd neglected her homework...

Her perfect academic record would be ruined.

How could she ever face her classmates again?

"Actually, I just remembered something urgent," Evelyn said quickly. "You go ahead without me."

Her heart pounded as Maxwell walked away.

Spotting a secluded bench near the library, Evelyn sprinted over and frantically pulled out her textbook.

But the problems were complex - far more challenging than she'd anticipated. Her pencil hovered uncertainly over the page.

"Need some help, Evie?" Harrison's voice startled her as he rolled up on his bike.

Seeing her hunched over the textbook, he smirked. "Forgot your homework?"

Evelyn nearly burst into tears. At that moment, Harrison might as well have descended from heaven. "These problems are impossible! I don't even know where to start!"

Parking his bike, Harrison plucked the textbook from her hands. His eyes scanned the page briefly before nodding. "Give me your pen."

Evelyn handed it over without hesitation. Harrison scribbled solutions with surprising speed, his handwriting miraculously matching hers. Within minutes, the assignment was complete.

Evelyn gasped at the flawless work. "You're incredible, Harrison!"

He arched an eyebrow. "Get to class."

Relief flooded through her as she packed up. "You're my guardian angel today. Ice cream after school - my treat! Meet me at the main gate!"

With a grateful wave, she dashed toward the building.

Harrison watched her go, an uncharacteristic smile tugging at his lips.
