Chapter 120

The pulsing music in the nightclub came to an abrupt halt as a shrill scream pierced through the air.

"Help! Someone save my baby!"

Evelyn Carter stood frozen, watching the scene unfold with disbelief.

This wasn't Isabella Delaney's first performance. Had she developed some sick addiction to theatrics?

Across the room, Nathan Sterling's gaze darkened as he took in the commotion. Without hesitation, he strode toward where Isabella had collapsed.

Right now, questions about her presence here were irrelevant.

Isabella clutched at Nathan's hand desperately, her face twisted in exaggerated pain.

"Nathan! Please...save our baby!"

"Vanessa Sterling immediately pointed an accusing finger. "It was Evelyn! She pushed Isabella!"

Nathan remained silent, his expression unreadable.

This didn't appear to be one of Isabella's usual performances. He reached down to help her up.

The moment his hand touched her dress, he felt something warm and sticky.

"Blood! Nathan, she's bleeding!" Vanessa shrieked, sending the surrounding crowd into panic.

"Someone call an ambulance!" A voice shouted from the gathered onlookers.

Without wasting another second, Nathan scooped Isabella into his arms and carried her toward the exit.

Olivia Sinclair arrived just in time to witness the commotion. "What in the world happened here?"

Evelyn's lips curled into a bitter smile. "Seems I've walked into another one of their traps."

"What do you mean?"

Evelyn's gaze dropped to the crimson stains on the floor.

She never imagined Isabella would go this far - sacrificing her own unborn child just to frame her.

After a tense moment, Evelyn's eyes flickered toward the security camera in the corner. A cold determination settled in her gaze.

At the hospital, Nathan and Vanessa waited outside the operating room in tense silence.

Finally, a nurse rushed out with urgent news.

"Family of the patient?"

Nathan stepped forward immediately. "How is she?"

"Are you the husband? The patient has suffered a miscarriage and requires an emergency procedure. We need your signature immediately."

The words hit Nathan like a physical blow.

"The patient's condition is critical. Please sign quickly."

His hand moved automatically, scrawling his name across the form.

After the procedure, Isabella was transferred to a private ward.

By morning, the Delaney family had descended upon the hospital in full force.

Alistair Delaney's face darkened when he saw Nathan. "Explain yourself! How did my granddaughter end up in this condition?"

Nathan's jaw tightened. "The matter requires proper investigation before conclusions can be drawn."

Vanessa, however, couldn't resist interjecting. "It was Evelyn Carter! She pushed Isabella down the stairs!"

Her accusation created an instant silence in the corridor.

"I saw it with my own eyes. Evelyn deliberately caused the fall. Mr. Delaney, you should press charges immediately!"

"Vanessa!" Nathan's sharp reprimand silenced her.

He maintained his composure. "We shouldn't jump to conclusions without all the facts."

Alistair's lips curled into a cold sneer. He hadn't forgotten the humiliation Evelyn had caused him in Frenda.

Only her status as a Kingsley had protected her then. But now...this incident provided the perfect opportunity for revenge.
