Chapter 416

"The patient's condition is critical." The doctor's voice was grave. "He's suffering from severe coronary artery disease and requires immediate bypass surgery. If you're family, please sign the consent form now."

He extended the clipboard toward Nathan. After a brief hesitation, Nathan took the pen and scrawled his signature. "Do whatever it takes to save him."

"We'll do our best."

Silence swallowed the hospital corridor once more.

As the doctor disappeared behind the operating room doors, Nathan turned to Simon. "Contact the top cardiac specialists worldwide. Get them here immediately."

"Yes, Mr. Sterling."

Simon stepped away to make the calls. Then Nathan's sharp gaze landed on Evelyn. His voice was ice. "There's nothing more for you here. Leave."

Evelyn didn't respond, but her chest tightened with worry for Alistair. She hadn't anticipated things escalating this far.

At that moment, Harrison's phone buzzed. He pulled it out, answering tersely. "What did you find?"

The voice on the other end spoke rapidly. Harrison's expression darkened.

"Understood." He ended the call.

Evelyn sensed the shift. "What is it?"

Harrison's lips curved slightly. "Just as we suspected. The imposter Juliette has undeniable ties to the Delaney family."

Evelyn's pulse spiked. "She's one of them?"

"The Delaney heiress, Diana, supposedly died in a car crash five years ago. The location? Coronia."

Nathan scoffed. "The dead don't come back to life."

Evelyn frowned.

"Unless they never died at all." Harrison's gaze locked onto Nathan. "Juliette Blackwood is Diana Delaney. Isn't she?"

Nathan's cold laugh was answer enough.

The pieces clicked into place for Evelyn. No wonder Juliette had despised her from their first meeting.

This explained everything—Juliette's relentless vendetta against her.

Harrison pressed further. "What I don't understand, Mr. Sterling, is why you're helping her conceal the truth."

Nathan pocketed one hand, his tone dripping with disdain. "You can't prove she's Diana. The official records say Diana Delaney is dead. How do you plan to overturn that?"

Harrison merely smiled. "You'll see."

For the first time, Nathan studied Harrison properly. The man's confidence was unnerving, as if every move had been meticulously planned.

A worthy opponent.
