Chapter 328

"Evelyn, what do you think of this one?" Julian held up a sophisticated navy blue dress with delicate lace sleeves.

Elliot, never one to be outshone, presented a daring crimson gown with a plunging neckline. "This would make you shine like the star you are, little sister."

"Elliot, that's too bold for a business event," Julian argued.

"And yours is too dull for our Evelyn," Elliot countered.

The brothers turned to their sister when neither would concede.

"Which do you prefer?"

Evelyn studied both dresses before reaching for a soft lavender designer piece hanging nearby. "You both have excellent taste, but I think subtle elegance suits tonight's occasion better."

Julian and Elliot exchanged glances. "Tie game," Julian declared. "This round doesn't count, Elliot."

Evelyn laughed at their competitive nature, linking arms with both brothers. "Dominic, Julian, I appreciate you both."

"Don't be silly," Elliot said affectionately, squeezing her shoulder. "You'll always be our princess. Now go change - Nathan's waiting."

As Evelyn descended the grand staircase in her lavender gown, all conversation in the foyer ceased. The dress hugged her curves perfectly while maintaining an air of refined sophistication.

"Stunning," Julian breathed.

Elliot nodded approvingly. "The simplicity highlights your natural beauty. That designer deserves a raise."

Evelyn's cheeks warmed under their praise. "Did you two raid a honey factory this morning?" She moved toward Nathan, who stood waiting by the door. "Shall we?"

Nathan's approving gaze swept over her. "Perfect choice." He offered his arm as they stepped outside where a limited edition Rolls-Royce Phantom idled at the curb.

The moment they arrived at the gala venue, Evelyn spotted Adrian Prescott near the entrance. Her eyebrows lifted in surprise.

Nathan explained, "Adrian's taken over Prescott Enterprises. They're co-hosting tonight's summit."

"I should say hello."

Nathan nodded. In his assessment, Adrian remained a worthy contender for Evelyn's affection. "I'll see you inside."

Adrian's face lit up when he noticed Evelyn approaching. "Evelyn! You're back in town?"

"Congratulations on your new position," Evelyn said warmly.

"Thank you." Adrian's smile widened.

Their easy familiarity didn't go unnoticed. While few recognized Evelyn yet, Adrian's prominence in business circles made their interaction fuel for speculation.

"Would you like me to escort you inside?" Adrian offered.

Evelyn shook her head, noticing the clipboard in his hand. "You're clearly busy. I can manage."

Adrian nodded reluctantly. "Until later then."
