Chapter 331
"Don't believe a word she's saying. It's all lies." Kimberly scrambled to defend herself.
Just then, Adrian came rushing over. His long strides carried him directly to Evelyn, concern etched across his handsome features.
"Are you alright, Ms. Carter?"
Evelyn gave a casual shrug. "Perfectly fine."
But Adrian had already heard the damning recording. His voice turned icy. "Ms. Carter is a distinguished guest I personally invited. Do you honestly think you can disrespect her like this?"
The crowd fell silent under Adrian's authoritative tone, people dispersing with awkward murmurs.
Sylvia stood frozen in shock.
She couldn't comprehend why Adrian Prescott would show such deference to Evelyn. Blinking rapidly, she pasted on a bright smile and approached.
"Mr. Prescott, I'm Sylvia Montgomery from Radiant Electronics. What an honor to meet you."
Her attempt at flattery fell flat as Adrian completely ignored her. Instead, he turned to Kimberly beside her.
"Did you just insult Evelyn?"
Kimberly looked utterly bewildered, still processing the sudden turn of events.
Without hesitation, Adrian signaled security. "Escort her out immediately."
The guards moved swiftly, efficiently removing a protesting Kimberly from the premises.
With that handled, Adrian guided Evelyn inside, leaving Sylvia gaping after them.
Now more than ever, Sylvia burned with curiosity about Evelyn's true identity.
The moment Evelyn entered the main hall, she became the center of attention. Important guests approached her with respectful greetings, which she acknowledged with polite grace.
Sylvia's stomach twisted with conflicting emotions as she witnessed the scene.
Then Dominic Kingsley made his entrance.
Sylvia's gaze instantly locked onto the powerful CEO. She quickly smoothed her dress and checked her reflection before approaching.
"Mr. Kingsley, I'm Sylvia Montgomery from Radiant Electronics. What a pleasant surprise to meet you here today. The honor is entirely mine."
She extended her hand with practiced charm.
Dominic remained stone-faced, leaving her hand hanging awkwardly in mid-air. Undeterred, Sylvia pressed on. "Mr. Kingsley, did you come alone tonight? Perhaps I could show you around?"
Dominic's response was curt. "That won't be necessary, Ms. Montgomery."
His gaze had already found Evelyn across the room. "If you'll excuse me."
With that, he strode purposefully toward Evelyn.
The gathered elite exchanged knowing glances. When someone of Dominic Kingsley's stature showed such clear preference, everyone took notice.
"Mr. Kingsley, might we know who this is?"
Someone dared to voice the question burning in everyone's minds.
Sylvia followed the exchange, her eyes darkening with jealousy. She'd never imagined Dominic would be so familiar with Evelyn.
What exactly was their relationship?
The answer seemed obvious, yet Sylvia refused to accept it. Her nails dug into her palms as she fought to maintain composure.
As the anticipation built, Dominic made the announcement with evident pride. "This is Evelyn Carter, the jewel of the Kingsley family. Our most treasured princess."
The revelation sent shockwaves through the crowd.
No one had guessed that Evelyn was the legendary Kingsley heiress.
Sylvia's legs nearly gave way beneath her.
She'd just offended the Kingsley family's beloved daughter.
"Ms. Carter, your business acumen is legendary. You've proven yourself every bit your brothers' equal in managing Kingsley Industries. What an honor to finally meet the brilliant mind behind such success."
