Chapter 60

The phone rang abruptly.

Ethan Roscente glanced at the caller ID, his eyes turning icy.

"Mr. Roscente, we've found it." Zachary Evans' voice carried hesitation.

The man's slender fingers tightened, knuckles whitening.

"Speak."

Silence stretched for several seconds.

"It's..." Zachary hesitated.

Ethan's gaze grew even colder. "Do I need to beg you to continue?"

"It's someone close." Zachary forced out the words. "Very close."

Felix Roland perked up nearby, curiosity written all over his face.

Ethan let out a cold laugh, already knowing the answer.

"Sophia Lowell?"

A sigh came through the phone.

Felix gasped, unable to contain himself. "Holy shit! Your little wildcat plays dirty!"

Ethan ended the call abruptly, dangerous glints flashing in his eyes.

"Perfect."

Felix rubbed his goosebumps, mentally lighting a candle for Sophia.

Meanwhile, Sophia was walking home with shopping bags.

A sudden cold wind made her shiver.

The apartment building loomed dark before her.

As she fumbled for her phone's flashlight, a powerful force slammed her against the wall.

"Who—"

"Having fun?" A deep male voice exploded by her ear.

Sophia froze.

Ethan's presence enveloped her completely.

"I don't know what you're talking about." She turned her face away, heart pounding.

His cold laugh brushed warm lips against her earlobe.

"Playing dumb?"

Sophia struggled to escape, but he pinned her wrists against the wall.

"Let go!" She raised her leg to kick.

Ethan easily restrained her, knee pressing between her thighs.

"Weren't you the one who wanted to be my dog?" He nipped her ear tauntingly. "The master isn't done playing yet."

Sophia trembled with rage.

"Ethan Roscente! Go find your fiancée!"

His eyes darkened as he gripped her chin, forcing her to look up.

"Jealous?"

"Ugh!" Sophia glared fiercely. "You disgust me!"

Instead of anger, Ethan smiled, thumb tracing her soft lips.

"Then why did you give my number to those women?"

Sophia's pupils contracted.

She was screwed.
