Chapter 319
Sophia's hands trembled as she clutched her documents. She didn't dare recall what had just happened—only the memory of blood splattering onto her fingertips when the ashtray struck Dominic's head.
What did those expensive skincare products and clothes matter now? She couldn't stay another second.
"Brought all your documents, I see." Sebastian's tone was casual, as if commenting on the weather, as he glanced at her white-knuckled grip.
Sophia forced a smirk. "Just instinct."
Back in the Hot Springs Resort, Dominic had rushed back to the room the moment the doctor finished bandaging his wound.
Lydia's call came right on cue: "Mr. Valrose, the police have left."
Standing amidst the wreckage, Dominic lit a cigarette. The smoke curled around his narrowed eyes. "No loose ends?"
"Don't worry. Everyone involved is loyal."
He took a harsh drag. "And that woman?"
"Surveillance shows she left the resort. After that—"
"Find her!" Dominic kicked over a suitcase. "I want her found—alive or dead!"
The door burst open.
Dominic turned, his cigarette clattering to the floor.
"Mr... Mr. Roscente..."
Ethan's gaze swept over the chaos before settling on the bandage around Dominic's head. Slowly, he removed his wristwatch and handed it to Zachary behind him.
"Care to explain, Mr. Valrose?"
Beads of sweat formed on Dominic's forehead. "It was Secretary Lowell who invited me! She suddenly went mad—"
"Oh?" Ethan rolled up his shirt sleeves, revealing toned forearms. "Go on."
"When her seduction failed, she tried to kill me! Just check the footage—"
Ethan smiled.
That smile sent chills down Dominic's spine.
