Chapter 239
Ethan Roscente's brow furrowed slightly, his thin lips curling into a cold smirk.
"She won't lose out. I'll arrange—"
"Enough." Sophia Lowell cut him off sharply, her eyes frosty. "I'm sick of your games, Ethan. You disgust me."
She shoved him away and stormed out of the car without looking back.
The door slammed shut with a deafening crash.
Ethan's face darkened, his knuckles turning white from how tightly he clenched them.
Inside the van, Vivian Ashcroft slumped in her seat like a deflated balloon. Daisy Rustichel paced anxiously, her face lighting up when she saw Sophia.
"Sophia... am I just not cut out for acting?" Vivian's voice trembled. "I finally found a role that suited me..."
Sophia pulled her into a tight hug, her nose stinging. "I'm sorry. This is all my fault."
"Don't say that!" Vivian suddenly flared up. "Those two deserve to rot! When I make it big, I'll expose every dirty secret they have!"
"Karma will get them."
After a rushed meal, they flipped through the scripts sent by the agency—all cheaply made short films, not even close to proper web series quality.
Outside the studio, Ethan stepped straight into Felix Roland's newly acquired red Ferrari.
"Too flashy," he muttered, scanning the interior with distaste.
Felix whistled. "That's the point. I’ve got another loud sports car that’d match your current vibe perfectly."
Ethan narrowed his eyes. "Looking for a beating?"
"Cut the act." Felix engaged the autopilot. "Stringing along Emily while keeping your fiancée happy—even a playboy wouldn’t be this busy."
"That script wasn’t for Isabella."
"Then…" Felix paused, realization dawning. "Wait, is Emily trying to break into the industry?"
"Her friend."
After hearing the full story, Felix clicked his tongue. "No wonder Emily called you disgusting. Sacrificing her best friend for your fiancée? I’d have punched you already."
"I was about to discuss compensation."
"Please," Felix scoffed. "In that situation, anything you said would’ve sounded like an excuse."
Ethan’s gaze darkened. "Then I’ll let actions speak."
