Chapter 315

"I want nothing more to do with them." Sophia Lowell gripped her suitcase handle until her knuckles turned white. "You understand how it feels to be gossiped about, don't you, Zachary?"

Zachary Evans studied her for a long moment before nodding slowly. "Understood, Ms. Lowell."

"Thank you."

After packing, Sophia took a hot shower. She was drying her hair when she noticed three missed calls from Vivian Ashcroft.

She dialed back immediately. Vivian's furious voice exploded through the phone: "That two-faced Isabella Valentine! She hasn't even officially announced her engagement, but she's already flaunting it all over social media!"

"Flaunting what?" Sophia twisted open a bottle of hair serum.

"What else? Her wedding to that scumbag Ethan!" Vivian hissed. "Now everyone's buzzing about their ceremony. Bullshit! Didn't Ethan just take you on a business trip?"

"It's true." Sophia applied the serum calmly. "Isabella confirmed it today."

Silence.

"Sophia..."

"Don't look at me like that." She chuckled. "Their marriage is good news. Finally, I'm free."

"Exactly!" Vivian perked up. "We'll set off fireworks to celebrate! I'll invite all those young heartthrobs from my agency for an all-night party!"

Sophia glanced down at her slightly rounded abdomen. "You think I can party?"

"Absolutely!" Vivian declared. "Last week, a woman danced at a club while nine months pregnant and went into labor right there. Her baby came out knowing how to DJ—tiny hands moving like lightning! Our little one will be the nightclub prince!"

Sophia laughed. "Nightclub prince? Only you could come up with that."

"It's called getting a head start!" Vivian chirped. "What time's your flight tomorrow? I'll pick you up."

"The earliest one." Sophia paused. "I don't want to travel with them."

"Got it! I'm free tomorrow morning."

"Okay."

A knock interrupted them.

Sophia eyed the door. "Room service is here. Talk later."

After hanging up, she checked the peephole cautiously. Seeing the hotel uniform, she opened the door.

"Just put it on the table—" She stepped aside, then froze.

Dominic Valrose removed his service cap with a knowing smile. "Long time no see, Ms. Lowell."
