Chapter 357
Why did Miss Sophia suddenly appear?
Zachary Evans felt cold sweat bead on his forehead.
In a flash, Ethan Roscente stood and strode toward the door.
Every gaze in the private room locked onto the unexpected arrival.
Sophia Lowell frowned slightly by the doorway, her eyes sweeping over the unfamiliar woman beside Ethan.
He stopped before her, voice flat. "Looking for me?"
Sophia's throat tightened. "Wrong room," she lied.
Leaning lazily against the doorframe, he smirked. "Thought you came to catch me cheating."
"A junior shouldn't meddle in elders' private affairs." Her nails dug into her palms.
His gaze burned. "Nothing to ask?"
She wanted to demand if his promise that night had been a lie—but this scene answered everything.
"Nothing," she lifted her chin.
"How convenient." Ethan's laugh was icy.
Her eyes frosted over. "Who gave you the right to act like this?"
She was the one whose feelings had been toyed with.
As Ethan opened his mouth, the woman suddenly clung to his arm. "Mr. Roscente, shall we continue?"
The blatant provocation drew a soft laugh from Sophia.
"Anything else?" Ethan's tone turned impatient.
Her heart constricted. Turning sharply, her stiletto nearly twisted beneath her.
Only when her figure vanished did Ethan shake off the woman's grip and light a cigarette.
Felix Roland approached, swirling his drink. "Sophia's eyes were red."
"Her?" Ethan exhaled smoke. "That heartless creature."
He jerked his chin at Zachary. "Find out why she was here."
The dismissed woman bit her lip in frustration.
Around the corridor's bend, Sophia slid down the wall, knees giving way.
Tears blurred her vision. She scrubbed at them furiously, only for more to fall.
Her phone rang abruptly.
Seeing Margaret's caller ID, she hung up with a shaky breath. Her fingers trembled as she typed a reply.
