Chapter 216

Sophia tensed as Emily interrogated her. Her slender arms wrapped around Ethan Roscente's neck, her voice trembling slightly. "Stop..."

The man paused, amusement flickering in his eyes. "How exactly should you beg?"

She answered by locking her legs around his waist.

Ethan released her with a satisfied smirk. Sophia immediately regained her composure. "I'm out getting a spa treatment with Vivian. I'll be back soon."

"No need," Emily said sternly. "Send me your location. I'm coming to you. Let’s see what you’ve done now."

"What’s wrong?" Sophia frowned.

"That bitch Tiffany Roscente ran to Victoria Langley and tattled. I’ve been dealing with her nonsense all night."

Sophia shot Ethan a glare before replying, "Fine. I’ll send the address."

She quickly texted Vivian for backup.

The moment she set her phone down, a large hand pulled her back onto the bed. Ethan loomed over her. "Sophia, when are you going to make this official?"

She shoved him away. "Have you lost your mind?"

Their relationship wasn’t something to hide—it was something that shouldn’t exist at all.

Smoothing her disheveled clothes, she stormed out without a backward glance.

Outside the café, Vivian’s car pulled up just in time.

"Where’s your aunt?" Vivian leaned out the window.

Sophia gestured toward the distance. "Over there. Remember our story."

Vivian gave her a knowing look. "What exactly did you do last night?"

"Later," Sophia hissed. "Help me get through this first."

Emily was already impatient. "Weren’t you just at a nearby spa? What took so long?"

"We had to finish the treatment," Sophia said smoothly.

"Where’s Vivian?" Emily glanced around.

"Parking the car."

Right on cue, Vivian rushed over, breathless. "Aunt Emily! Your skin is flawless! I feel like a mess next to you!"

The flattery made Emily beam, her frustration from Victoria’s antics fading slightly.
