Chapter 461
Sophia blinked. "Then why did he suddenly switch to business?"
"Well..." Zachary hesitated, his lips curling into a knowing smile. "That's Mr. Roscente's private matter. If you're really curious, you should ask him yourself."
Sophia scoffed. "If even you won’t tell me, he definitely won’t."
Zachary only smiled in response.
Twenty minutes later, Ethan returned, his expression stormy. "Get me coffee," he ordered, his voice rough.
"Only instant here..." Zachary said apologetically.
"Doesn’t matter. Hurry up."
"Yes, sir."
A steaming cup of instant coffee was quickly handed to Ethan. He stared at the dark liquid, his brow furrowed, then took a large gulp—only to immediately spit it back out, his face twisting in disgust.
His lips were red and glossy from repeated rinsing, clearly revolted by the taste. As he turned toward the restroom again, Sophia pulled a tissue from her bag and held it out. "Here."
Ethan narrowed his eyes. "Shouldn’t you be wiping my mouth for me?"
"Dream on." She rolled her eyes. Even if he’d just saved a life, it didn’t erase the fact she was still furious with him.
"Sophia." His voice stopped her.
"What?"
"It’s disgusting."
"And?"
"I feel awful." There was an uncharacteristic note of petulance in his tone.
"Then?"
Suddenly, he stepped closer, his long fingers tilting her chin up. His lips brushed lightly against hers. "Now I don’t."
With so many workers watching!
Sophia’s face burned crimson to her ears. She stomped her foot in outrage. "You—!"
He licked his lips shamelessly. "Cleansed. Much better now."
"..."
She wasn’t some damn air freshener!
This bastard was just finding excuses to take advantage.
Sophia was seething.
Just as she was about to explode, Zachary approached quickly. "Mr. Roscente, the site supervisor is waiting in the conference room."
Ethan’s expression sharpened. He turned to Sophia. "Coming with me, or staying here?"
"Like I’d wait for you!" She stormed off toward the conference room.
Zachary watched her furious retreat before whispering, "Sir, did you upset Ms. Lowell again?"
Ethan’s lips curved faintly as he savored the memory of that kiss. "She’s like a firecracker—one spark and she explodes."
"..."
Zachary sighed inwardly. What a way to describe a woman.
