Chapter 230
"Your aunt is in my custody. Prepare 300 million for her release..."
Sophia immediately ended the call and blocked the unknown number.
Scammers were getting more outrageous these days.
300 million? She couldn't even spare 300 dollars.
She picked up her stylus again but couldn't focus.
Her fingers swiped across the screen as she dialed Emily's number.
After endless ringing, no one answered.
Frowning, she called the family estate next.
"Margaret, is Aunt Emily home?"
"Madam Laurent went out for mahjong and hasn't returned yet."
"She's not answering her phone."
"Perhaps it's on silent. I'll have her call you back when she returns."
Hanging up, Sophia exhaled in relief.
Just a scam call after all.
But her concentration was already shattered. She decided to call Vivian instead.
"Still suffering on set?"
"Don't even ask. That talentless lead actor messed up twenty takes. The whole crew's stuck babysitting him." Vivian lowered her voice. "Isabella's here too. Absolute nightmare."
Sophia paused. "Why would she take a web drama role?"
"Here to fawn over the male lead. Acting like she owns the place."
"I made pastries. Want me to bring some over?"
"Seriously?" Vivian's voice brightened instantly. "Come rescue me from this hell!"
Thirty minutes later, Sophia arrived at the studio lot in her dust-covered Mini Cooper.
She spotted Vivian's assistant Daisy peering anxiously by the entrance.
The round-faced boy jogged over. "Sophia! The director just called cut. Vivian sent me to get you."
