Chapter 61

If Isabella dared to make a scene, it would certainly anger Alexander.

Knowing the current state of Isabella and Alexander's marriage, she wouldn't risk provoking him. Any outburst would only make him despise her more.

Beatrice felt slightly reassured by this thought, but still worried Alexander might show too much kindness toward Victoria, which could push Isabella over the edge.

Isabella, however, remained oblivious to their concerns. She wasn't paying attention to their interactions at all - her focus was entirely on the man seated beside her, Theodore Sinclair.

Theodore had known Isabella would attend the expo and made sure to greet her earlier.

Their last meeting at a gala had involved such stimulating conversation that he'd been eager to reconnect, but their busy schedules prevented it. Now that fate had brought them together again, he wasn't about to let the opportunity slip away.

Soon after sitting down, he leaned toward her, initiating conversation.

The table was large enough that their quiet exchange didn't disturb others.

Seeing Theodore engaged in what appeared to be pleasant conversation with Isabella, Victoria and Beatrice assumed they were merely discussing technical matters and paid them little mind.

A man seated on Theodore's other side chuckled. "Theodore, you never stop working, do you? Even during meals, you're discussing business. Your mouth hasn't had a break since this morning."

Another guest joined in the teasing. "Exactly! He was deep in conversation with Ms. Kensington at the expo earlier too."

When the attention turned to him, Theodore smiled but fired back. "Every time I try discussing technical topics with you all, you pawn me off on your engineers. Now that I've found someone actually interested, suddenly you miss me?"

Someone glanced between Victoria and Isabella before remarking, "Who would've thought the younger generation would be so passionate about AI and programming these days? Times are truly changing."

"Indeed," another agreed. "After speaking with Ms. Kensington earlier, Theodore was telling me how promising the youth are today. He even said our country's future looks bright!"

"Well, Ms. Kensington graduated top of her class from an Ivy League university. Isn't she the very definition of promising talent?"

Victoria offered a modest smile. "You're all too kind."

Given Alexander's prominent status and Victoria's position as his partner, it was natural for the group to shower her with praise.

As for Isabella, while they acknowledged her beauty, they only knew her as an employee at Nathaniel's company. Though rumors swirled about her relationship with Nathaniel, she lacked significant social standing. Naturally, the group paid her little attention.

When the food arrived, Victoria placed a portion on Alexander's plate, which he accepted without hesitation.

The conversation soon turned to discussing the future potential of various exhibits at the expo.

One guest couldn't resist commenting, "Speaking of which, Mr. Whitmore, the compatibility between your autonomous vehicle project and Mr. Graves' intelligent traffic programming language is truly remarkable. It's quite tempting, honestly. Are you really not considering a collaboration?"
