Chapter 330
Isabella Sinclair had relatives visiting from Salzburg, and they'd come to Baumond specifically to see her.
That morning, just as she wrapped up a meeting, Margaret called asking her to join them for lunch.
She stood waiting by the elevator when Joseph Whitfield - the newly appointed general manager of YodaVision - approached with Alexander Whitmore and Daniel Prescott.
Joseph greeted her first. "Ms. Sinclair."
Isabella gave a curt nod.
Joseph wasn't certain if Alexander and Isabella knew each other. Though Alexander had been at YodaVision for days negotiating a collaboration, their paths had never crossed.
Noticing Isabella didn't acknowledge Alexander, Joseph assumed they were strangers. "Ms. Sinclair, this is Mr. Whitmore of Whitmore Group."
Then to Alexander, "This is Ms. Sinclair from YodaVision's R&D department."
Without glancing at Alexander, Isabella stated flatly, "We're acquainted."
Alexander smirked at Joseph. "No introductions necessary. We know each other... intimately."
Joseph blinked, looking between them.
Intimately? That's not the impression I'm getting.
He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Ah, I see."
Isabella remained silent.
Alexander chuckled but said nothing more.
Joseph finally understood - Isabella was deliberately snubbing Alexander. Just like Nathaniel Graves would.
He wondered what history existed between these three.
But Alexander wasn't someone to take lightly.
With a major collaboration pending, both Isabella and Nathaniel treated him with icy indifference. Stranger still - Alexander didn't seem to mind.
Joseph wasn't sure whether to feel relieved or concerned.
As he debated breaking the silence, Alexander's phone rang.
"I'll be right down," Alexander answered before stepping into the elevator.
Joseph forced a smile. "Ms. Kensington picking you up for lunch again? You two seem close."
Alexander opened his mouth to respond when another call interrupted him.
When the elevator doors opened, Isabella strode out without a backward glance.
Outside in the parking lot, she spotted Victoria Kensington waiting by a car.
Their eyes met.
Victoria's gaze was glacial.
Isabella quickly looked away, heading to her own vehicle.
Victoria only softened when she saw Alexander emerging from the building.
As Isabella started her car, she noticed Victoria handing her keys to Daniel before getting into Alexander's car.
She drove off without another glance.
At the restaurant, after seeing Margaret's guests off, Isabella was about to leave when she spotted Dominic Fairchild exiting.
His brows immediately furrowed at the sight of her.
The last time he'd seen her was when Alexander had gone to YodaVision looking for her. He didn't know how things stood between them now, but he'd heard about the Whitmore-YodaVision collaboration.
Would this rekindle old flames?
His expression betrayed his thoughts.
Without acknowledging him, Isabella drove away.
Dominic returned to his office where negotiations with the Kensington family were underway.
At 3 PM, his secretary announced, "Mr. Fairchild, Ms. Kensington is here."
Dominic paused. "Ms. Kensington?"
"Yes. She said Mr. Kensington is ill, so she's representing him for the collaboration discussion."
Dominic's eyes lit up. He hurried to the meeting room.
Victoria apologized immediately. "My father isn't feeling well, so regarding our collaboration-"
Dominic waved it off. "Perfectly understandable."
He couldn't hide his delight, which Victoria noted with a faint smile.
After their discussion, Dominic seized his chance. "Ms. Kensington, would you care to have dinner?"
Victoria declined politely. "I have training for an upcoming race. Perhaps another time."
Dominic knew of her racing career, though he'd only seen recordings. He longed to watch her compete live.
But if she was training today, Alexander would undoubtedly accompany her.
With that thought, he dropped the subject. "Another time then."
After Victoria left, Simon Fairchild called. "Sebastian Ashford is free tonight. Want to meet up?"
Dominic had an idea. "Let's skip the bar. How about something more exciting?"
Simon sounded intrigued. "What did you have in mind?"
"Let's go watch some car racing."
"Racing?" Simon's interest was piqued. "Now that sounds like fun!"
After learning Victoria's training location, they had dinner before heading to the racetrack with Sebastian.
