Chapter 452

Victoria Kensington and Dominic Fairchild didn't question how Kieran Blackwood and Sebastian Ashford knew each other. With practiced grace, Victoria suggested, "Since we've met by chance, why don't we have lunch together?"

Dominic opened his mouth to agree, but Kieran cut in sharply. "I have prior commitments. Another time."

Before Dominic could react, Sebastian smoothly added, "Same here. Business matters require my attention." His polite refusal caught Dominic off guard, making him blink in surprise.

Noticing Dominic's reaction, Victoria's smile faltered slightly. She'd always sensed Sebastian's cool detachment toward her - not hostile, but distinctly uninterested. The realization stung more than she cared to admit.

"Another time then," Dominic conceded awkwardly.

Victoria forced a bright smile. "Of course, whenever you're available."

Sebastian gave a curt nod, squeezed Dominic's shoulder in silent communication, and strode away. Kieran had already returned to his phone, effectively dismissing them both. His blatant indifference was new - in the past, she'd always caught him stealing glances when he thought she wasn't looking.

Now? Nothing.

A faint crease appeared between Victoria's brows before she smoothed her expression. "Your parents worry about you," she said gently to Kieran. "Call them sometime." Without waiting for a response, she turned on her heel.

The Kensington and Shaw families observed the exchange from a discreet distance. As Victoria rejoined them, Diana Kensington remarked, "That was the Fairchild heir and Walter Ashford's grandson, wasn't it? Such distinguished young men from Fairview's elite families."

"Particularly Sebastian Ashford," Beatrice Kensington added eagerly. "He rarely appears at social functions. You should have prolonged the conversation!"

Victoria had barely taken her seat when Penelope chimed in, "They're all exceptional matches. Josephine and Genevieve are still unattached..."

"Exactly!" Diana agreed enthusiastically.

Josephine spoke quietly, "But both Mr. Blackwood and Mr. Fairchild seem quite taken with Victoria. Wouldn't it be awkward?"

Beatrice shot her daughter a disapproving look. "Nonsense! Feelings develop over time. If Victoria facilitates introductions, who knows what might blossom? You must try."

Josephine fell silent under her mother's glare.

Victoria finally interjected, "I'm not close enough with them to make such introductions."

Diana waved a dismissive hand. "Then simply bring Josephine or Genevieve along next time there's an event they're attending."
