Chapter 171
Alexander didn't speak. He simply dialed Isabella's number on his phone.
Isabella saw the call and rejected it immediately.
Alexander paused. "Your mother isn't answering my calls either."
"She must be busy." Sophia frowned. There was no way Isabella would ignore Alexander's call otherwise.
"Perhaps." Alexander shrugged on his suit jacket and grabbed a cashmere coat. "I'm leaving. If you want to go out, take the bodyguards."
"But I want Mom to come with me..." Even though she hated when Isabella scolded her, Sophia still craved her company sometimes.
She pouted. "Dad, are you going to the hospital to see Victoria? Or straight to the office?"
"Hospital first, then office." Alexander tapped her forehead lightly. "Behave yourself."
She tried calling Isabella twice more with no success. Reluctantly, she went out with Margaret and the bodyguards.
Without Isabella's company, even skiing felt dull. Sophia quickly grew bored and returned home.
After leaving the hospital, Alexander headed to Whitmore Corporation.
Oliver arrived shortly after. Alexander gave him a look. Oliver grinned. "I came to watch the show."
Before Alexander could respond, Daniel approached. "Mr. Blackwood is here."
"Send him up," Alexander ordered.
Jonathan Blackwood entered the conference room, guided by Daniel.
Alexander shook his hand. "Have a seat."
Jonathan wasted no time. He produced the signed divorce papers from yesterday and slid them across the table.
Alexander took them.
Since it was Saturday, Oliver had come specifically to see if Isabella would actually sign. Spotting her signature, he whistled. "She really signed?"
Alexander glanced at the signature without reaction and continued discussing matters with Jonathan.
As their conversation concluded, Alexander said, "There are substantial assets involved—properties, shares, and more. I'll need time to arrange the transfers. I'll contact you when everything's settled."
Jonathan nodded. "Understood."
Alexander turned to Daniel. "See Mr. Blackwood out."
After leaving Whitmore Corporation, Jonathan updated Isabella.
She frowned. "How long will this take?"
"That depends on Mr. Whitmore's progress."
"I see." Isabella said, "Thank you, Mr. Blackwood."
The next day, she went to work at YodaVision as usual.
That afternoon, while discussing a project with Nathaniel, his phone rang. Nathaniel frowned at the caller ID.
Isabella asked, "What's wrong?"
He showed her the screen. "Dominic Fairchild."
Everyone in the industry knew each other. Though they rarely interacted, they at least exchanged contacts.
After their initial encounter at InnovaTech, Nathaniel hadn't expected further dealings with Dominic.
So why was he calling now? Puzzled, Nathaniel answered.
After hanging up, he turned to Isabella. "He wants to collaborate on a new project."
The two projects Isabella led had gained significant attention, with confirmed government cooperation forthcoming.
Given this promising trajectory, it was inevitable that partners would come knocking at YodaVision's door.
The news hadn't even broken yet, and Dominic had already made his move.
Nathaniel smirked. "Richard Fairchild's son is just as cunning as his father."
