Chapter 46
Beatrice Kensington smirked. In her mind, Isabella Sinclair was simply jealous that Alexander Whitmore had chosen Victoria Kensington over her. That's why she was deliberately blocking Victoria's entry into YodaVision.
Isabella had no real skills or knowledge - all she did was cause trouble. The thought made Beatrice scoff.
She was certain Alexander shared this opinion too.
The amusing part? Isabella remained completely unaware. Probably still gloating about sabotaging Victoria's opportunity.
Comparing Victoria's brilliance to Isabella's pettiness only reinforced Beatrice's belief in their incomparable differences.
Reginald Kensington sighed deeply. "I know." His thoughts mirrored Beatrice's exactly.
"But she refuses to listen."
"She's truly..."
"As stubborn as her mother."
Beatrice kept this last thought to herself - anything related to that woman was unpleasant to discuss.
"About Cuap..."
"Let's wait until Victoria returns," Reginald said, equally invested. Their company had poured millions into AI research with lackluster results.
Meanwhile, YodaVision earned billions annually simply by owning Cuap's technology. The envy was unbearable.
If they could acquire Cuap's core technology, their company's valuation would skyrocket overnight. Tens of billions would be easily within reach.
Victoria entered just as Reginald contemplated this.
"Father, Aunt Beatrice," she greeted coolly.
"Victoria!" Beatrice's face lit up with genuine admiration. "You're back."
Victoria took a seat. "What were you discussing?"
"Cuap," Reginald answered. "Since YodaVision fell through, what's your next move? Has Mr. Whitmore said anything?"
"Alexander promised to introduce me to Frederick Aldridge."
Frederick was the nation's foremost AI expert - his movements were classified, his access restricted to elite circles.
Nathaniel Graves was one of Frederick's few protégés. Rumor claimed Frederick himself had developed Cuap.
With the Nathaniel route blocked, Frederick became their only option.
"Excellent." Reginald smiled, though concern lingered. "But Nathaniel is Frederick's student. If he's poisoned the well..."
"That won't be an issue," Beatrice interjected confidently. "Frederick values talent above all else. Victoria's genius will speak for itself."
"If given the chance, Frederick might even take her as his personal student."
Reginald chuckled. "True enough."
"When will this meeting occur?" Beatrice pressed.
Victoria sipped her water calmly. "At next week's tech expo. Frederick will be attending."
They knew of the prestigious event - their company lacked the standing for invitations. But with Alexander's connections...
Two tickets appeared in Victoria's hand. "Alexander provided these. Only two though-"
"Who accompanies you doesn't matter," Reginald said urgently. "You must attend."
Beatrice nodded emphatically. "Absolutely."
