Chapter 238
After Sophia left, Isabella went upstairs, powered up her laptop, and began working.
An hour later, Jonathan sent over some documents for her review.
Isabella opened them immediately. The first thing that caught her attention were three newly listed properties, their locations clearly marked.
She froze when she saw the details.
All three were vacant units in the Whitmore family's residential compound, positioned remarkably close to Alexander's mansion.
Truth be told, though Alexander had previously purchased the house opposite his for her, that alone hadn't completely eased her worries.
Eleanor Kensington loved her daily walks. Even if the Sinclair family no longer lived across the street, being in the same neighborhood meant inevitable encounters.
This had been a constant concern. But now...
Studying the new agreement - was Alexander attempting to eliminate her worries once more?
While likely just expressing gratitude and ensuring she wouldn't overthink, these properties felt meticulously tailored to her needs.
She refused to dwell on any deeper implications. Moving on to the next document.
It stated Alexander would first transfer two billion dollars to her as liquid assets.
Having witnessed his wealth before - both at the auction and when learning he'd bought homes for the Sinclair family - seeing him casually move billions still stunned her.
After confirming everything was in order, Isabella contacted Jonathan.
The agreement was signed swiftly, and the funds appeared in her account moments later.
Regarding the properties, Alexander's lawyer mentioned the transfer was processing. The deeds would be delivered within days.
By the time everything was settled, morning had faded into afternoon.
With Eleanor Whitmore recently undergoing surgery, Margaret worried she might feel lonely and decided to visit the hospital.
Isabella joined her.
Starting Monday, she'd be buried in work with little time for hospital visits.
At the hospital, Isabella spotted Victoria again.
She wasn't particularly concerned about Victoria and Alexander's relationship. The first time she'd seen Victoria waiting outside the car, she'd barely noticed.
But today, with biting winds and frigid temperatures, Victoria's deliberate outdoor vigil was clearly meant for Isabella to see.
The message was obvious: their relationship remained unaffected. Nothing Isabella did could come between them.
Isabella smirked but said nothing.
She glanced at Margaret, uncertain how she felt about Victoria.
At that moment, Margaret happened to look down, missing Victoria entirely.
Isabella didn't mention it. Linking arms with Margaret, they entered the hospital.
Victoria's presence meant Alexander was inside.
Sure enough, he stood by Eleanor's bedside when they entered.
He greeted them politely.
Isabella remained impassive.
Eleanor, however, brightened immediately. She grasped Margaret's hand. "You shouldn't trouble yourself to visit me, dear friend."
"After all these years, don't speak such nonsense."
As they settled in, both women noticed Eleanor's improved condition - better color, brighter eyes, more energy.
Their relief was palpable.
