Chapter 60

Isabella spotted Alexander immediately. She maintained her composure and turned to Nathaniel. "We have prior engagements. Let's continue this conversation another time."

Nathaniel shook hands with them politely. "Of course. Another time then."

Without even glancing at Isabella, Victoria strode away with Reginald and Beatrice in tow.

Given Nathaniel's status, it wasn't surprising when several industry leaders approached him before noon, extending lunch invitations. Their subtle hints confirmed Alexander would be attending.

This gathering would bring together the who's who of the AI sector - the very people shaping the industry's future. The market's direction hinged on their decisions.

More than just networking, this was an opportunity to gain insider knowledge. Successful discussions could even lead to immediate business deals.

Nathaniel was clearly tempted.

He glanced at Isabella, silently seeking her opinion.

With Alexander present, would she...

"I'm coming," Isabella stated firmly.

Outside, they'd maintain their facade as strangers. But avoidance wasn't her style.

The group of executives led Isabella and Nathaniel toward Alexander's contingent.

Alexander watched their approach with an unreadable expression.

Victoria's brow furrowed momentarily before smoothing into indifference as she averted her gaze.

When Reginald and Beatrice joined them, their expressions darkened upon noticing Isabella.

Some attendees hadn't greeted Nathaniel yet, so they seized the opportunity as he approached.

When it was Alexander's turn, he extended his hand. "Mr. Graves."

"Mr. Whitmore," Nathaniel replied with practiced ease. "I've heard so much about you."

"The pleasure is mine."

After brief pleasantries, Alexander and Victoria led the procession to the parking lot. Isabella and Nathaniel followed several paces behind.

Reginald and Beatrice shot warning glances at Isabella, who pretended not to notice.

Alexander and Victoria shared a car, while Isabella rode with Nathaniel.

Beatrice huffed in frustration. "That girl has no sense of propriety."

The convoy comprised over twenty vehicles.

The private dining room's expansive round table accommodated everyone comfortably.

Naturally, Alexander and Victoria sat together.

Beatrice attempted to sit beside Isabella, worried she might cause a scene. But Nathaniel had already claimed the seat.

As everyone settled, conversation flowed while menus circulated.

Alexander handed the menu to Victoria. "Your choice."

She accepted it gracefully. "Any preferences?"

"Whatever you select," he replied.

Nearby guests chuckled. "Mr. Whitmore and Ms. Kensington make quite the pair."

Victoria selected several dishes she knew Alexander favored.

Reginald and Beatrice exchanged approving smiles.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel consulted Isabella quietly about her preferences.

Noticing the exchange at Alexander's side, he glanced over briefly before refocusing on Isabella. Her expression remained neutral as they finalized their order.

Seeing Isabella behaving appropriately, Reginald and Beatrice relaxed slightly.

Victoria leaned closer to whisper, "Relax. She wouldn't dare make a scene with Alexander here."
