Chapter 341
The elevator doors slid open. Isabella stepped out without sparing a glance at Victoria or her entourage. She had more important matters to attend to than their petty drama.
Hours later, she was deep in discussion with Maxwell when she noticed the group standing at her department's entrance. Eleanor, Diana, Penelope, and Genevieve Kensington had arrived unannounced.
Maxwell caught her brief glance. "That's Ms. Kensington's family," he whispered.
Isabella merely nodded, returning her attention to her tablet.
The Kensington women had clearly noticed her too. Their expressions ranged from indifference to smug satisfaction as they took in her presence at InnovaTech.
Genevieve led the charge, her heels clicking sharply against the marble floor. The others followed like obedient ducklings.
Maxwell immediately stood to greet them. "Madam Kensington, Mrs. Kensington, Ms. Kensington."
Eleanor and Diana offered practiced smiles. "We heard about the autonomous vehicle system issues," Eleanor said, deliberately ignoring Isabella. "Has everything been resolved?"
"Progress is excellent," Maxwell assured them. "We'll have it fixed by this afternoon."
Diana patted his arm. "Such dedication." Her tone dripped with false warmth.
That's when Genevieve zeroed in on Isabella. "How interesting," she drawled. "I leave InnovaTech for barely a month, and suddenly the systems keep malfunctioning." Her lips curled. "One might think the service provider is... incompetent."
The insult hung in the air like poison gas.
Maxwell opened his mouth to protest, but Isabella beat him to it. "Terminate the contract if you're dissatisfied." Her voice was ice. "The exit clause is quite clear."
Genevieve's face flushed. She knew better than anyone that YodaVision Co. dominated the AI sector. Challenging them would be corporate suicide.
"You arrogant little—" Genevieve spat. "One would think you own YodaVision."
Isabella didn't blink. "Draft the termination papers. Sign them. Then we'll see who has authority here."
