Chapter 329
Alexander casually suggested, "Why don't we grab lunch together? My treat."
Nathaniel had zero interest in dining with him. "Thanks for the offer, but I'm exhausted today. I'll just grab something quick from the company cafe. You're welcome to do whatever you prefer."
Alexander flashed his charming smile. "The cafe sounds perfect actually. Mind if we join you?"
Nathaniel couldn't refuse.
Ten minutes later, they entered The Grandeur's corporate cafeteria.
The arrival of the company CEO - combined with Alexander's striking good looks - immediately drew all eyes toward them.
Isabella was already seated at a table, deep in conversation with Kieran Blackwood from R&D. She didn't notice Nathaniel's entrance.
It wasn't until she heard gasps and murmurs that she glanced up - only to see not just Nathaniel, but Alexander Whitmore himself standing there.
Hearing the commotion, Kieran turned to look as well.
Nathaniel, Alexander, and Daniel all noticed Isabella and Kieran sitting together.
Seeing Isabella engaged in what appeared to be an intimate conversation with another man, Alexander showed no reaction whatsoever.
Nathaniel's gaze briefly met Isabella's. A silent understanding passed between them - she would stay out of this, and he'd handle the situation.
Isabella simply nodded and looked away.
From the moment Nathaniel agreed to this collaboration, he'd planned to shield Isabella from any unnecessary interactions with Alexander.
After collecting their food, Nathaniel deliberately chose a table on the opposite side of the cafeteria.
Alexander made no objection.
Throughout the meal, Alexander never once glanced in Isabella's direction.
Daniel, however, stole several looks at her. He'd heard rumors about Isabella and Nathaniel, though he wasn't sure what to believe.
Earlier that morning, Isabella had been ice-cold toward Alexander. Now she acted like he didn't exist.
She'd clearly moved on.
What surprised him more was Alexander's complete indifference to seeing Isabella with another man.
But then again, it shouldn't have.
Daniel had witnessed firsthand Alexander's contempt for Isabella - and his undying devotion to Victoria Kensington.
With that thought, he finally stopped watching her.
By the time Nathaniel and Alexander finished eating, Isabella had already left.
Alexander departed The Grandeur around 3 PM for another appointment. The collaboration details still needed finalizing.
Over the next several days, Alexander returned to The Grandeur multiple times. But aside from that first brief encounter, he and Isabella never crossed paths again.
To any outside observer, they appeared to be complete strangers.
Only Nathaniel knew the truth - that these two were actually married. As news of the Fleming Tech-Grandeur partnership spread through the company, whispers followed.
One afternoon, as Isabella entered a conference room, she overheard a female colleague gushing: "I just saw Alexander Whitmore in the elevator! God, he's even more gorgeous in person!"
"Rich, handsome, and completely devoted to his girlfriend. Did you hear? He just gifted her InnovaTech! Can you imagine? If I..."
